Respite Care

Heritage Memory Care is dedicated to providing compassionate care not only for our residents, but for their families—which is why we offer support groups for family members, as well as a specialized Respite Care program.

Too often, family members assume that a spouse or next of kin can provide the sole care for a loved one with dementia. The truth is, care giving is a commitment that only becomes bigger—and over time, your family member with dementia will need around-the-clock nursing care for dementia. Many times you have your own health issues, jobs, and other responsibilities, and providing the best possible care to a loved one with dementia is a commitment impossible for one person to fulfill.

At Heritage Memory Care facilities, communication is essential to making sure that your loved one’s needs are met, and that the family caregiver has the support and resources necessary to meet those needs.

Our respite care program provides a short period of in-facility care for your loved one, so that you or an appointed family member/caregiver may rest, travel, or attend to other things. The program is designed to help you and your loved one relax and recuperate from the daily emotional strains of progressive dementia. Respite Care package includes:

  • 24-hour nursing staff
  • Assistance with bathing, dressing, and meals
  • Medication management
  • Assistance with all other activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Activities program
  • Housekeeping and laundry services

Love is not a substitute for rest, and a short break from the day-to-day demands of caring for a loved one with dementia can rejuvenate the caregiver sacrificing his or her own needs for those of another. With Heritage Memory Care’s Respite Care program, caregivers can enjoy their time away, comforted by the knowledge that their loved one is receiving constant personalized attention and nursing care for dementia from our devoted staff.
